Spanish are running & Bobbi caught 2ND place

I participated recently in the 2ND annual Ladies only King Mackerel fishing Tournament on Oak Island @ Ocean Crest Pier, held Labor Day weekend..The week leading up to the tournament I fished on 2 different days, catching a total of 3 Spanish in all....Those practice runs paid off....Placed 2ND with my 2 pound, 9 ounce Spanish Mackerel right behind the winning Spanish @ 2 pounds, 11 ounces (another Coldwell Banker Seacoast agent)..This 3 day event was more fun than last year with 25 ladies signed up to fish, tell stories, meet the challenge make memories and help one another out.. An observer fishing on the pier said it's a wonder the pier didn't tilt to one side or another as the fish were being reeled in from us ladies running over to the angler and giving encouragement to pull in the big one!...(Something I was told is not the norm with the regular tourneys)....Big thanks to all of those wonderful coaches, the sponsors and Dave & Melinda Cooper, owners/operators, of Ocean Crest Pier.....You all made us feel important, giving generously of your time, gifts & allowing us to fish on the last big Holiday weekend of the season...The ladies are still smiling and telling fish "tales"...Please take a moment to visit Ocean Crest Pier's site @ (month is not correct on some pics)... http://www.oceancrestpier.net/ , click onto the photo gallery, then 2009 Ladies King Mackerel Tournament to see the pics posted there.....Come join us next year ladies and have fun along the coast of North Carolina...
